About the Instructor

Rob Blackston is a Certified Surgical Technologist and Certified Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA). Currently, Rob lives in Coeur d'Alene, ID and is the Program Director/Instructor of Surgical First Assisting at the College of Western Idaho. Rob has been a CST since 2004 and has worked in all surgical specialties. 

 

Rob graduated from Boise State University with a Master of Educational Technology and an Online Teaching Certificate in 2018. Rob also has a Technical Certificate in Surgical Technology, an Associate of Arts in music from the College of Southern Idaho, and a Bachelor of Science in Training and Development from Idaho State University. Rob is currently a PhD in Education student at the University of Idaho and is pursuing a focus in Career and Technical Education.
